Been getting the Laguna ready for sale. Even though driving it felt more like sailing, I'll miss this thing. Super comfy, plenty powerful enough and practical.

Why sell it if you are going to miss it?

To buy the next one.

Do you live in some kind of Laguna only street, with the gen 1 and gen 3 in the background?
![]() 02/25/2016 at 11:06 |

Well the gen 2 and 3 are ours, the gen 1 is the neighbours. Rare you see all three gen together haha. My street is like 60% Renault as well.

Wow. Gen 2 Laguna. You like to live dangerously! (At least its a facelifted one, way more reliable that the non facelifted one)

It has not been a reliable vehicle... Were selling it for a reason haha.

Haha, rare indeed. 60% is a lot of Renaults man, I think there are only 3/4 in my street, however we do have a french thing going on, especially near my house with my dad driving a Peugeot and our neighbours driving a Citroën.

A friend of my father had one. He had to change the gearbox twice in less than 1000km (was changed under warranty each time). A bunch of other people we know had their fair share of problems with the Laguna.... And the Espace was kind of the same unreliable thing... Weird when they were able to make reliable cars at the same time. I don’t think the Mégane and Clio were as prone to problems as the Laguna and Espace.

We have my 2010 twingo, 2 similar aged clios a 2007 megane and a 2006 scenic. Bearing in mind this is a pretty small street.

Ours is on 93k and we’ve had two failed ball joints, two failed springs, two complete EGR failures one requiring it being brought home on a two truck. An injector worked its way loose, something with the boost control solenoid, complete failure of an engine mount, seized rear caliper, complete failure of rear axle bushes and a clogged PCV causing oil burning. That’s all I can remember atm.

Plus yeah their smaller stuff is pretty solid especially the petrols. Seen plenty of clios hit 200k no problem. Hence me being happy to own a little Renault.

It doesn’t look too bad. Usually I don’t like any red cars but Laguna doesn’t seem to be awful in red.

Yeah I really like the colour on it. Really suits it.

The face lifted Laguna II is actually a rather elegant looking thing, I'm sorry to hear that it's leaving although given its track record I can't say I blame you. Citroen C5 Wagon as replacement?
![]() 02/25/2016 at 12:20 |

We already have the replacement, 2010 Mondeo 2 litre diesel. I bought it as a flip originally but my mam liked it so much I sold it to her for £700 less than I had in it.

They like Lagunas where you live a 1999/2000 hatch, 2006 estate and a 2010 hatch.
Good look with shifting yours quickly.

The 2010 is ours too haha. Thanks hopefully it goes soon.
![]() 02/25/2016 at 16:36 |

That’s probably good. The Mondeo is likely much better reliably than any French counterparts...

Well its actually on the same mileage as the Laguna and runs like new. She has a couple dents and a replaced wing from the previous owners shitty parking but is otherwise spot on. Pulls like a train too.

Diesel + non French midsize sedan = trouble free and pleasurable motoring?

I hope so...
